After Decades of Consideration Bon Jovi Earns MusiCares Person of the Year 2024

Musicians by nature struggle to lead a healthy lifestyle because many can't see life past the stage. While some have struggled to find a purpose after music, others have blossomed. This year, Grammy's MusiCares Foundation honours Jon Bon Jovi as Person of the Year 2024 for his exceptional contribution to his own community, outside music.

Bon Jovi doesn't sing about feeding the world, he simply does it —

Jon Bon Jovi has been named the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year. The Recording Academy's philanthropic organization will honor him at their benefit on February 2, just before the Grammy Awards. Jon Bon Jovi's humanitarian efforts, including his work with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, will be recognized with a ceremony and tribute concert. In my opinion, this recognition is well-deserved for his contributions to both music and philanthropy.

In October 2006, the Jon Bon Jovi Foundation was created. Jon wanted to feed the hungry and give the option to pay or work for their meal. The idea was genius and risky but has been paying itself to, not only continue but grow.

In October 2011, Jon opened the JBJ Soul Kitchen. And in May 2016, JBJ Kitchen expanded to open its second location at The Beat Center, in Toms River, NJ.

Since its inception, both kitchens have served over 85,000 meals. Most recently, they reached the goal of 51% paying customers and 49% customers in need. The next time you visit New Jersey, be sure to stop by and experience your meal out. https://www.jbjsoulkitchen.org/
